Kathryn Burrington
Hello, I’m Kathryn, a holistic therapist, writer, photographer and artist living in Bognor Regis, West Sussex with my husband, Neill, and my cat, Bonnie.
I can regularly be found swimming in the sea throughout the year or walking and meditating in the woods of the South Downs. I also enjoy qigong, yoga, dancing, singing and celebrating the Wheel of the Year.
My life has always been filled with music and dance. I’ve sung in several choirs over the years including the London Rainforest Choir, and organised world music festivals and singing workshops. For many years I was chairman of Nyodema, a charity raising funds for children in West Africa. I was also a founder member of the Nyodema Drummers and conducted the Nyodema Community Choir.
My work life has been varied and, prior to healing, included graphic design, travel writing, photography, teaching art and leading guided walks in the South Downs.
I’m a graduate of Bristol University (BSc (Hons) Zoology and Psychology), a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society and winner of the Blogger of the Year with the British Guild of Travel Writers in 2017.
Being dyslexic, I was told early in life that I was stupid. To anyone else finding themselves in a similar situation, don’t believe a word of it!

Reiki Meadow
Reiki Master & Teacher
I am qualified as a Reiki Master & Teacher. As well as Reiki, I also offer Reiki with Sound Healing, a truly sublime blend of healing therapies.
Reiki is an ancient holistic therapy first used in Japan. It promotes the body’s natural ability to heal itself and is deeply relaxing to receive. You can read more about Reiki and find the answers to common questions on my Reiki FAQ page.
I first experienced ‘Ki’ (‘Qi’ or ‘Chi’), the universal life force or energy that flows through and connects us all, while learning Qigong some years ago. On my journey to find out more about ‘Ki’ I discovered Reiki and studied the first and second degree Reiki with a Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki Master.
I later went on to study the third degree Reiki Master and Teacher level, known as Shinpiden, with a Reiki Master with both Usui Shiki Ryoho and Usui Reiki Ryoho lineage, learning about both Western and Eastern branches of Usui Reiki.
I am now studying Sound Healing (see below) and have found the combination of Reiki, mixed with the healing sounds of instruments including Tibet bowls, chimes, drums and gongs to be a uniquely profound, healing experience.
Reflexology
Reflexology student
I am a fully qualified reflexologist, an ancient Chinese therapy dating back thousands of years. This holistic therapy uses gentle hand pressure to massage the muscles of the feet or hands and to stimulate nerves reaching different areas of the body, thereby releasing blocked energy and bringing harmony and balance.
This therapy is very relaxing with other feedback from my clients ranging from how much better they are sleeping to how they no longer suffer from sciatica pain, for example.
Sound Healing
Sound healing student
Having passed my Level 1 Foundations of Integral Sound Healing course, I am now studying for a diploma with The Sound Healing Academy. I use a range of instruments, including Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, drums and gongs to create a soothing sound bath. When you know how to use these instruments correctly the effect is sublime and surprisingly gentle.
Join me for a one-to-one sound bath combined with Reiki.
Sign up to my mailing list for updates on group Sound Baths which will be starting again in August. From September I will also be working with a wonderful yoga instructor combining yoga with sound.
Sound healing is known to:
Reduce stress and anxiety.
Calm your mind and promote clearer thinking and focus.
Improve sleep.
Promote feelings of spiritual well-being.
Enhance the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Mandala Meadow
Online and in-person mindful art classes
I started teaching mandala art online when the world first went into lockdown in April 2020 as a way to help people come together and combat stress. Soon after I started a monthly online art club drawing mandalas and other patterns from around the world including Arabic geometry and Celtic knots. Now that the world has opened up again I am continuing these classes as a fun, informal way to learn a new skill. Having a creative outlet is very beneficial to our mental health. Even people who think they can’t draw are surprised by the beautiful patterns they can create.
Over the last few years, I have taught hundreds of people how to draw mandalas and now hold regular classes for veterans through a national UK charity. I also offer in-person classes on request. You can find out more about my art classes at MandalaMeadow.com.
